That was so Sick….

Last Saturday I and 502 other bikes, predominantly Sportsters, rode from all over the UK to Nottingham Harley Davidson for the Sportster Sickness Big One Take 2.

Met up with the London Sickos at South Mimms service station on the M25 at 8.30am.  After a fuel up and a coffee we set off up the M1 for the approximately 170 mile ride. on the way we stop at a number of ‘gathering points’ to pick up other groups of riders.

We pull off for the first gathering point where another group joined up to continue onwards to Nottingham… We didn’t stop here but continued on to the next stop.

Around 30 miles on and we pull in to Newport Pagnell Services.  This was a half hour stopover and as I was the last to fuel up I hung back to take some video of us leaving.. just a few…

Next stop and we pick up a further large group… I, again, was the last to leave so that I could have a blast catching up.  I then hit some road works and seemed to have lost the main pack completely.  I knew the next gathering point was Donnington Services so having continued on a fair way I stopped at the next services only to find I had overshot Donnington by 16 miles…sheesh!!

Quick turn around and back down the M1.. phew they were all still there… loads of bikes…  here I am having a good look around.

We left here and continued onto the last gather at a local rugby club where the final group then set off to ride into Nottingham itself and on to Robin Hood Harley Davidson dealership.

What a grand day… brilliant ride, even though it did rain slightly on the first leg the rest of the day was mostly sunshine if a little on the chilly side.

Some fantastic bikes and a real pleasure to ride with a large group like that.

Here is a link to one of the guys vlog with some footage from the day.  Don’t blink or you’ll miss me…

Next stop Folkestone to catch Le Shuttle to France and onwards to Sainte-Maxime and St Tropez, yay.
